WHAT IS NOT CHANGING?

  • All league fees

  • All Skills & Drills pricing

We know affordability matters to our players, and it matters to us too.

Our goal has always been to make pickleball accessible while continuing to provide a welcoming, well-maintained facility where our community can enjoy the game.

These adjustments allow us to continue doing exactly that.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We truly appreciate every player who chooses to spend their time on our courts!

YOUR FEEDBACK IS HELPING SHAPE OUR NEXT LEAGUES!

Last week, we introduced our League Interest Form, and we’re excited to start hearing what our Meadows players want!

One of our biggest goals is to expand our league programming, but we want to make sure we’re offering leagues that actually work for our community.

That means finding the right combination of skill levels, formats, days and times.

HAVEN’T FILLED OUT THE FORM YET?

We’d love to hear from you!

Whether you’re looking for recreational games, competitive doubles, women’s leagues, mixed leagues or DUPR-rated play, your feedback helps us decide what to offer next.

Our leagues typically run for four weeks, with two hours of play each week.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU SUBMIT THE FORM?

As we review responses, we’ll look for groups of players with similar interests and availability.

When we have enough interest to create a league, we’ll reach out with the details.

Completing the form doesn’t register you for a league, but it gives us a much better idea of what our community wants.

If you haven’t completed it yet, please take a few minutes to do so!

DON’T HAVE FOUR PLAYERS? THAT’S WHAT DROP-INS ARE FOR!

One of the best things about pickleball is that you don’t need to organize an entire group to enjoy a few hours of great games.

That’s where our drop-in sessions come in!

Whether you’re looking to meet new players, get some exercise or simply enjoy a few extra games each week, we’ve got options for different skill levels.

CURRENT MEADOWS DROP-IN SCHEDULE

BEGINNERS | NR–3.0Thursdays | 9:00–11:00 AM

A welcoming session for newer players who want to build confidence, gain experience and enjoy games with others at a similar level.

INTERMEDIATE | 3.0–3.5Saturdays | 9:00–11:00 AM

Perfect for players looking for some friendly competition and consistent games.

ADVANCED | 3.5+Saturdays | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM

Ready for faster rallies and more challenging games? This is the session for you!

All drop-ins can be booked through MINDBODY.

A quick reminder that registering early makes a difference!

When players wait until the last minute to sign up, it becomes harder for us to know whether a session has enough interest to run.

If you know you want to play, grab your spot early!

INTRO TO PICKLEBALL – EVERYONE STARTS SOMEWHERE!

Have a friend, family member or coworker who keeps saying they want to try pickleball?

Maybe they’ve watched you play, heard you talk about it or wondered what all the excitement is about.

Our Intro to Pickleball sessions are the perfect place to start!

THE MEADOWS INTRO TO PICKLEBALL

Wednesdays | 6:00–8:00 PM

These beginner-friendly sessions are designed to introduce new players to the game in a comfortable, supportive environment.

Participants will learn the basics, including serving, scoring, court positioning and the rules of the game.

No previous experience is necessary!

If you know someone who has been thinking about giving pickleball a try, encourage them to sign up through MINDBODY.

You never know, they might become your next regular doubles partner!

HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR WEEKEND COURT TIME?

The weekend is almost here!

Whether you’ve got a regular group or you’re trying to organize a few games with friends, now is a great time to check court availability.

As we move further into fall, indoor court time becomes increasingly popular.

If you’ve been waiting to get your group back together, consider this your reminder!

Court rentals are a great option for players who prefer to organize their own games and play at their own pace.

BOOK YOUR COURT THROUGH MINDBODY!

And remember, if your group plays at the same time every week, ask us about our Guaranteed Court Booking options.

Having a regular booking means less organizing and more playing!

For more information, email meadows@crosscourtpickleball.ca.

PICKLEBALL TIP OF THE WEEK: THE RETURN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK!

Everyone loves working on their serves, dinks and powerful drives.

But there’s one shot that can make a huge difference in your game that doesn’t always get enough attention.

Your return of serve!

A good return does more than simply put the ball back in play.

It gives you time to move forward, establish your position at the kitchen line and put pressure on the serving team.

Here are three things to focus on during your next game:

1. AIM DEEP

A deep return keeps your opponents farther back and makes it harder for them to move forward.

2. GIVE YOURSELF TIME

You don’t need to crush every return. A controlled return with some height can give you more time to get to the kitchen.

3. MOVE FORWARD

After returning, make your way toward the kitchen line as quickly and safely as possible.

Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to win the point with your return.

It’s to put yourself and your partner in the best position to win the rally!

PICKLEBALL CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK: PLAY THE MIDDLE!

This week’s challenge is all about one of the most effective areas of the court.

The middle!

We all love trying to hit those perfect shots down the sidelines, but sometimes the smartest place to put the ball is right between your opponents.

Hitting through the middle can create hesitation, confusion and opportunities for mistakes.

It can also be a much safer target than aiming for the lines.

During your next doubles game, challenge yourself to look for opportunities to hit through the middle.

Pay attention to how your opponents react.

Do they hesitate?

Do they both go for the ball?

Does one player leave an opening?

You might be surprised how effective such a simple strategy can be.

Sometimes the best shot isn’t the fanciest one!

A QUICK REMINDER ABOUT CANCELLATIONS

We understand that plans change!

Whether something comes up at work, you’re feeling under the weather or your group can no longer make it, we know cancellations are sometimes unavoidable.

We simply ask that everyone keep our 24-hour cancellation policy in mind.

Cancelling with enough notice gives other players the opportunity to book that court or fill an available spot.

As indoor season gets busier, this becomes especially important.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us make the most of our available court time.

LET’S KEEP GROWING OUR MEADOWS PICKLEBALL COMMUNITY!

One of the things we love most about pickleball is how easily it brings people together.

You can walk onto a court with three people you’ve never met and leave two hours later with three new pickleball friends.

That’s what makes this sport so special!

As we continue expanding our programming at The Meadows, we’d love your help spreading the word.

Have a friend who’s never played?

Invite them to an Intro session!

Know someone looking for more games?

Tell them about our drop-ins!

Have a group interested in joining a league?

Encourage them to complete our League Interest Form!

The more players we bring together, the more opportunities we can create for everyone.

SEE YOU ON THE COURTS!

We’re looking forward to another great week of pickleball at The Meadows!

As we head into the second half of October, we’re continuing to focus on growing our programs, creating more playing opportunities and listening to what our members want.

Please remember that our updated court rental and drop-in pricing takes effect November 1, 2026.

And if you haven’t already completed our League Interest Form, we’d really appreciate your feedback!

Thank you for continuing to support Cross Court Pickleball and for being part of our community.

Have a fantastic week, enjoy your games and we’ll see you on the courts!
